Too Legit

Too Legit

Shanghai, China

Guess who is going to be ragin’ in Beijing? It’s me!

Today I went to buy a ticket to see my friend Hardy, and his other friend who will also be visiting from Shenzhen. I called lucky Hardy to let him know I’m visiting indefinitely because I was only able to buy a train ticket to Beijing for Tuesday, 21 September. Tickets are only sold ten days in advance, and it’s too early to buy a return ticket for the night train the following Sunday night. So I told Hardy he can expect me indefinitely! Hen hao!

Also, ROSETTA STONE IS THE BOMB. There are two ways to get it.

#1, you pay $500 and you can sleep well at night knowing you are too legit, too legit to quit.

#2, you move to Shanghai and visit the “Fake Market.” I’m not sure why it’s called the Fake Market, but for some reason the Rosetta Stone I bought today only cost 85RMB! (This is not to be confused with the Rosetta Stone I bought there a few days ago that cost 35RMB and did not work.)

I completed Lesson 1> Core Lesson at 94% with 129 correct and 8 incorrect. But, I remember this from the German Rosetta Stone: after a while, those scores start to look more like high school than grade school, and many lessons need repeating.

Now I’m headed out to an awesome Japanese restaurant that Geraldt and I ate at after we first saw this apartment. For about $8, we had a great Japanese meal, with some of the only salad I’ve had since I arrived here. This is about 5 times less than great Japanese food costs in Barcelona --- except when it’s provided by the awesome likes of Satoshi or Hitoshi or Yoshi or their wives! On that note, if you are considering business school, be sure not only to ask what percentage of each potential MBA program is international, but also make sure to find out what percentage is Japanese.
